this is for wang leehom, he was my favorite musician 10 years ago and he still is now.
he is the one who taught me what is "musician" instead of singer.
he is also the one who showed me the power of being a pop star and there is nothing wrong of making pop music.
and the most important is i do feel something from his music!
i cry twice in his concert and i wasnt a teenager then.
i carefully place his albums, every of them next to my bed so i can see them before i go to bed.
when we first have internet, it used to be the most exciting thing for me to log on his website to read his article which he talks about his music every weekend.
i believed he is the one who initiates my interest to music.
his music is one of those that stays with me when i was down, sad and wonder.
i told people that he is my soulmate because his music makes me feel i am not alone.
years goes by, he is getting really famous, so famous that people almost forget he is a musician not just a pop idol.
they want him to make the fashion magzine pose, they want him to dance and they want his gossip more.
he still brings nice pieces of work but the feeling which hits my heart and my mind every time i listen to his music is getting less and less.
i apperciate his did not take the safe way that keep making the wang lee hom style love song.
but somehow i just feel that the commercial part takes over his music.
for a musician who has in this industry for more than 10 years he can do more than that!
it is not about the style or format. it is the very origional spirit of his music.
his chinese wasnt very well which encouraged me to learn english.
so since i was young i dream about one day i can make him fully understand me.
then i can tell him how much i like his music and how his music changed me.
and i still want to do it!
i hate to say it but the truth is i like the old albums more than new ones.
i really really hope next time when i play the latest album it will remind me he is more a pop star, he is a musician.
